Minibird Travel was founded in 2008 by John Apostol and Matthew Ziebarth. It all started with the purchase of the Ark, a 1998 Bluebird Mini Bird military bus. Minibird Travel was formerly known as Ark Travel, but the need for a more iconic name for the organization was realized as it became a reality that the current fleet of one bus will someday expand to numerous buses.

The purpose of Minibird Travel is explore the highways and National Parks of North America in a custom bus.
